ABOUT SIDY

The SIDY ‘book a caregiver’ app provides retirement villages access to a quality network of local, vetted carers to maintain continuity and quality of care.

We give retirement villages and care homes a solution to their staffing challenges. SIDY runs a thorough recruitment and management process to deliver qualified staff, when and where they’re needed, at the click of a button.

Designed for the needs of the sector

We know that as our population ages there’s an increasing demand for carers. In fact staff in retirement villages are already run off their feet and right now it can be incredibly difficult trying to find a reliever at short notice. SIDY wants to change all that by bringing support and control back into everyone’s lives – at the touch of a button.

Supported

With SIDY, rest homes and retirement villages can find dedicated local caregivers when they need them. No more trying desperately to fill shifts last minute, or managing illness in the team without backup. You can ensure your residents have access to the care they need, around the clock.

Convenient

SIDY is a purpose-designed app, developed together with the clever team at Auckland Automation, to bring you an easy way to book temporary carers available for work. All you need to do is register online and request a carer when they’re needed. We do the rest. It works a little like the Uber app – real people ready and keen to help.

Trusted

Our team of qualified carers are reliable professionals, providing steady helpful hands, especially for the elderly and infirm. We have recruited an empathetic team, of fluent, trained temporary staff who can step in to care for your residents. All SIDY carers have been through a robust interview, background check and trail process to ensure they have the skills, temperament and attitude you need.

OUR PURPOSE

To help retirement villages continue their quality of care in a convenient, time saving way.

How it all started

In 2019, while Aucklander Ned Bhana was looking after his elderly parents at home, he decided to go on holiday. It was easy to book the trip, but near impossible to find professional caregivers who would visit his parents daily to stock the fridge and cook an evening meal. He spoke with retirement village operators and quickly confirmed that finding temporary staff was one of their biggest challenges too.

With a background in tech and guided by the close family values of his New Zealand Indian heritage, he decided he would develop a smart, simple solution to bring caregivers together with retirement villages. Like an Uber app for carers, villages can go direct for quick responses and placements. While SIDY carers can access a better hourly rate than they can through a traditional agency.

Together with a talented recruitment partner, Ned is bringing SIDY to market in mid-2023 to connect pre-qualified temporary staff with aged care and retirement homes, so more carers can find meaningful work and homes gain more stability and control in staffing.
